Sunset Pool Rules

Club Policies/Rules


  • Members must sign in at the front counter upon entering the pool area, and register any guests.
  • A member may have up to 10 guests in one day. If the number of guest exceeds 10, then a member must make a party reservation with the Manger and pay the appropriate fee.
  • Members who have been suspended or expelled shall not be admitted to Club property.
  • No pets shall be permitted in the pool or pool area.

Use of Grounds

  • No skateboards or rollerblades in the pool area.
  • Bikes must be stored in the bike racks and should be locked. The Club is not responsible for lost bikes or other personal items left at the pool.

Main Pool

  • Lifeguards will clear the pool every hour for Adult Swim. No one under 18 is allowed in the pool (or sitting on the steps) during the 10-minute Adult Swim period.
  • Inflatables and pool toys are to be used at the discretion of the lifeguard. The lifeguard has the right to remove inflatables or pool toys (such as squirt guns) if they interfere with the safety or enjoyment of the users of the Club. Inflatable floaties must be translucent.
  • Children must be at least 8 years old, able to follow the rules of the Club, and certified as a "swimmer" (able to swim the length of the pool) by the pool staff in order to be left at the pool without adult supervision.
  • Spitting in the pool or pool area is prohibited.
  • Rocks or other foreign objects must not be thrown in the pool.
  • Diving is allowed at the deep end of the pool, pending lifeguard discretion and number of people using the pool.
  • Infants and incontinent children must wear a swim diaper.
  • Gum and/or food are not permitted in the pool.
  • All trash and recycling must be placed in containers provided for this purpose.
  • No swimming apparel other than swimming suits are allowed in the pool.

Slide Rules

  • No swimmer wearing water wings or life vests are allowed to go down the slide.
  • The slider must be seated when sliding down slide (lying down or head first is not allowed).
  • Only one person on slide at a time. Next person in line must not climb th steps until the slider has entered the pool.
  • Slider must immediately swim to the ladder side of the wall once entering the water.

Wading Pool

  • Only children 6 years of age & under are allowed in the wading pool.
  • NO LIFE GUARDS are on Duty at the wading pool.
  • Parents must be present at the wading pool at all times to supervise their children.
  • No one may use baby pool during adult swim.
  • Infants and inontinent children must wear a swim diaper.

Health & Safety

  • Persons with colds, runny noses, skin diseases, or other communicable diseases may not enter the pool.
  • Bandages may not be worn in the pool.
  • Non-swimmers must wear Coast Guard approved life vest, or be within arms' reach of a responsible adult.
  • Inflatables are not the same as life jackets and are not to be used as such.
  • Running, roughhousing, wrestling, pushing, snapping of towels, hitting with noodles, and other dangerous practices in pool or pool area are prohibited.
  • All injuries, no matter how slight must be reported to the lifeguard.


  • The lifeguards shall be in complete charge of the swimming pool and pool area, and have full authority to enforce the rules and to expel or exclude any person violating the same.  The use of pool toys is at the discretion of the lifeguard on duty.  
  • The lifeguards shall have the authority to take any and all steps, which in their opinion are necessary or proper to protect the health, safety, and enjoyment of all persons using Club facilities.
  • Two lifeguards must be on duty during all regular hours of pool operation. However, at certain specified times, NO LIFEGUARDS will be present. Participants must sign a waiver at the door before entering the pool grounds. Parents must be present to supervise and watch their children. Under no circumstances is a parent to leave a child unattended during this time.
  • Conversations with or loitering around lifeguard is not allowed.
  • No employee of the club shall be reprimanded or in any way punished by any member, guest, or visitor. Any inattention to duty or lack of courtesy on the part of any Club employee shall be reported to the Manager of the Club, and can be grounds for suspension and/or expulsion from the Club.


  • No member, guest or visitor shall take any article belonging to the Club from Club property.
  • Profanity and vulgar remarks will be reason for expulsion from the Club grounds.
  • Intoxicated persons shall not be admitted to Club property. This is a family club and we support a family-friendly environment focused on fun and safety.  
  • Smoking is not permitted on the premises (including the parking lot).
